I'm just saying that kids going to HS nowadays at CHS don't have near the role models that I did or others before us did at that school in the administration and in the teachers as well--most of them that were good role models and teachers/principals have either died or retired from teaching. The current people there now just wish they were half the person those people were. There wouldn't be the need for police intervention if some of those people were still teaching/administrating at that school, regardless of out-of-school incidents, I think.

Those people had an effect on me and how I turned out as a person. They didn't control me, but I learned not just stuff out of the books from them, but about life as well and that combined with being raised by a couple of pretty good parents helped me be the person I am today, which is pretty good (though, like you, could be up for debate).

There's lots of kids I went to school with that had crappy parents that didn't care as well that ended up better adjusted to life and made it further than what they would have had they not had someone at CHS tell them that they could be more and that they could get a good education and do something with their lives.

That place used to be a lot better place than what it currently is, I believe.

And to be clear--I'm not disagreeing with the parents being scum--they need to step up and be accountable. Major fault there too--someone needs to be handing out some whoopins either at home or at school.
